The centre survived the fires of December and January which threatened it from three sides. Extreme gratitude is extended to the Country Fire Service personnel and the volunteers from local farms who protected the centre, as well as to the local Ambulance Station and residents in Kingscote who accommodated all who had to evacuate from the centre, including retreaters.

We also thank everyone from around the world for supporting us with their kind words and prayers through what was a very difficult time.
